The San Benito County Arts Council held a national public art competition for artist designed benches for Dunne Park in Holister, California, a town in the central valley. The site specific design of the turquoise Fault Line Bench playfully references to the Calaveras Fault Line which runs through the park. With a diagonal “fault line” in the middle of the seat and backrest, off-setting the two ends, the bench looks as if it has survived an earthquake. Additionally, installed along the walking path near the children's playground, an orange Rolled Arm Bench serves as a climbable sculpture as well as seating element.
